How we worked it.
- 1Numbered and palletized every tile by section to maintain original pattern variation.
- 2Tore off felt underlayment and inspected all decking; replaced 12 sheets of rot.
- 3Installed 40-year synthetic underlayment with self-adhered membrane at valleys, eaves, and chimney.
- 4Re-set salvaged tile in original pattern; ordered matched replacement only for the 7% lost to breakage.
Where it landed.
Zero leaks through the 2024 monsoon. Homeowner kept the original character of the home and avoided the cost of all-new tile. Underlayment carries a 40-year warranty.
