What I look for
- Vague scope, "as needed" line items, missing tear-off count
- Underlayment type, ice-and-water at valleys/eaves, flashing spec
- Warranty length + who backs it (manufacturer vs contractor)
- NM license class (GB-2/GB-98/MM-3), permit + inspection included
- Payment schedule — anyone asking >30% upfront is a red flag
