Independence Policy.

The formal policy governing Roof Doctor NM, LLC. This is the disclosure we hand to every homeowner, every insurance carrier, and every court.

1. Scope of services

Roof Doctor NM provides independent roof inspection, roof-report writing, scope-of-work drafting, bid-review consulting, and inspector-supervised re-inspection. We do not perform any contracting work of any kind on roofs, roof accessories, or building envelopes.

2. Compensation

Our primary revenue is fees paid directly by the party requesting the inspection or consulting service (typically the homeowner, buyer, seller, real-estate agent, or property manager). We may also receive referral fees or commissions from some roofing contractors in our vetted network when a homeowner chooses to hire them. Any such arrangement is disclosed to the homeowner before the contractor is introduced. We do not accept payments from contractors for placement, ranking, or preferential matching.

3. Contractor vetting program

We publish a list of NM contractors who meet a 12-point vetting standard. Placement on the list is based on meeting vetting criteria, not on payment. We do not rank, endorse, or recommend individual contractors. Presence on the list is a statement that the contractor meets a minimum vetting standard, not a guarantee of workmanship or a recommendation to hire.

4. Insurance claim work

We do not sign Assignment-of-Benefits (AOB) contracts under any circumstance. We do not represent homeowners as public adjusters, and we are not licensed to do so. We do not file insurance claims on a homeowner's behalf. We produce carrier-ready damage-documentation packets; the homeowner (or their licensed public adjuster) files and negotiates the claim.

5. Insurance & credentials

Insurance coverage is confirmed per engagement; a certificate of insurance is provided at booking on request, and additional certificate holders (agent, buyer, or seller) can be named before the inspection date. The inspector brings 20+ years of NM roofing experience in Operations Manager, Sales Manager, and General Manager roles at $10–25M/yr shops, plus HAAG Certified Inspector, IKO ROOFPRO, GAF product-knowledge, and FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot credentials. We are not a licensed New Mexico contractor by choice, consistent with §1 above.

6. Report ownership & retention

Every completed inspection report is the property of the client who paid for it. Clients may share, publish, redistribute, or use the report in litigation without further permission. Reports are stored on our servers for ten (10) years and may be re-downloaded or re-issued on request. We do not sell, trade, or share client data with any third party.

7. Complaints & recourse

If we violate any provision of this policy, contact us in writing at roofdoctornm@gmail.com. If we fail to remedy, homeowners retain full right to pursue civil action or report to any applicable NM state or federal consumer-protection authority (including the NM Attorney General Consumer Protection Division and the NM Regulation & Licensing Department).
