Full disclosure · Plain English

How Roof Doctor NM is compensated.

Every dollar that reaches this business, in writing, before you make a hiring decision. Nothing hidden — that's the whole point of an independent inspector.

1. Primary revenue

Homeowner-paid inspection and report fees are the primary revenue of Roof Doctor NM.

2. Disclosed contractor referral fees

When a matched bench contractor is hired, they may pay a flat, disclosed referral fee to Roof Doctor NM. The fee is fixed — it does not scale with the project price — so it cannot influence which contractor is recommended for your roof.

Fixed, not percentage-based. A flat referral fee is not a commission — it doesn't increase when the roof job is bigger or when a more expensive material is spec'd. That's the structural safeguard: my income can't be moved by what I recommend for your roof.

3. Written disclosure — before you choose

Any referral fee is disclosed to the homeowner in writing, before you select a contractor. A one-page Compensation Disclosure is attached to every report that includes a contractor recommendation.

4. Your report is portable

You are never required to hire from the bench. Written scopes are portable — any qualified NM roofing company can bid apples-to-apples from your report.

5. What Roof Doctor NM never accepts
  • · Assignment-of-Benefits (AOB) commissions from insurance work
  • · Percentage-of-claim compensation
  • · Undisclosed spiffs, gifts, or trip incentives from manufacturers
  • · Marketing-spend-based contractor ranking
Homeowner rights

Two things you can always do.

Hire outside the bench.

You are never required to hire from the vetted bench. The written scope of work in your report is yours — take it to any qualified NM roofing company for apples-to-apples bids.

Ask to see the disclosure line.

Before you sign a contractor agreement, ask for the Compensation Disclosure attached to your report. If a matched contractor pays a referral fee, the dollar amount is stated there.
